How about a games thread ? Sort of like A-Z, animals - people take it in turns to say an animal beginning with the next letter etc..
EG If I said ' Alligator ', then whoever happened to be online next would say something starting with a B
When we ran out of letters, one of the mods could pick the next A-Z topic.

Would just fill those boring gaps, where we're online and nothing much is happening,

Dolphin suggested this and got some support for it so we'll give it a go
