Liv.52 – Liver detox herbal supplement

Liv.52 is a herbal medicine specifically formulated to help strengthen the liver. It assists in the elimination of acetaldehyde (the toxic by-product of alcohol) – which means you don’t get so much of a hangover. It encourages regrowth of new liver cells and protects against alcohol induced liver damage.

This is one of the few herbal medicines that has actually been researched extensively, and shown to be highly effective. Look at some of the research if you don’t believe it.

5 x Bottles Himalya herbal Liv.52 regular Liver care 100% natural remedy each bottles contain 100 tablets

Taking this medicine won’t solve all your problems with alcohol, of course not. But it might just help your liver to cope with the effects of your drinking.

To the person who asked about dealing with insomnia, PharmaGABA specifically is probably indicated. You might also note some nice benefits in the bathroom as well. GABA is low relative to glutamate in most people with addictions and insomnia. GABA is a calming neurotransmitter, but it can be tricky getting it to cross the blood brain barrier. The trademark PharmaGABA, which is over the counter, works well for me for sleep. Some people also find that it works to quell anxiety. And arguably, it’s a necessary part of any addiction program, as glutamate seems to hold the key for addiction, and glutamate (excitatory neurotransmitter) needs to be balanced with GABA. Dr. Amy Yasko has a lot of great info on this online.

Low-dose 5-HTP (Thorne makes a 50mg), precursor to serotonin/melatonin, might also help with sleep, but I’d first go with PharmaGABA alone. Once you start with 5-HTP, then you need to think about balancing it with tyrosine, so that serotonin and dopamine can be kept in balance.

Bon courage, as the French say. I’m on here looking for help to help those I love.

My husband is on a medication that keeps him from doing opiates. He has Hep C and is really worried about cirrhosis. The Doctors want to do a CT scan to see the damage that has been caused by his drinking. I met him 15 years ago he went from drinking beer to drinking 2 pints of cheap Vodka a day. We want to know if this herb is safe to take with meds. Everything I read tell you to ask your Doctor before you take an herbal supplement. If he asks his Doctor I have a feeling the Doctor will say no. They are all in cahoots with the drugs companies. He goes to a Veterans Administration Doctor. They give him so much RAT POINSON (Meds) I get so angry because all of this crap having to be metabolized by his liver cannot be helping his liver. Just doing research and looking to help him. Milk Thistle sound really good!

Just stumbled on this site, interesting to read people being so open about their drink problems. I feel ashamed of myself for letting my drinking become a daily routine. It started as a way to relieve stress from work, now it’s not that anymore it’s a must even through I don’t want to. Finding the will power to not drink is getting harder each day.

A medical study in 2010 showed Liv52 had NO affect whatsoever when it comes to treating alcohol related liver function.

Which medical study are you referring to specifically Andrew? – if you make a statement like that you really need to back it up with a link to the web-page concerned, otherwise it’s just an unsubstantiated opinion from a random commenter.

You can take it at any time, but of course you know already that the more important decision is to cut down, or just have an occasional sober day.

Thank God I found someone that has the “same” type of concern I have…The only difference is that for some time I keep drinking 1/2 a bottle of 80% proof stuff (375ml) at least 6 days of the week.

Meanwhile, I am on blood pressure medicine and I will soon start on a medicine for GAD and depression (even though I do not feel anxious or depress)…But my Dr. insists I should get on it.

Bottom line: Is this supplement SAFE for alcoholics (I declare I am one) and GAD/Depression patients while taking other medications?

It is so hard to quit. Even when I want to do it, I don’t. I wonder how many times I will try until I am successful, or will I never be successful. 🙁 It doesn’t make me feel good, I behave poorly, I say and do things I never would do, and I hurt other people that I really, really love and never want to hurt. I am sorry. I wish you good luck, too. I just keep trying. I hope you do, too.

I use milk thistle seed most days. I grind 3 heaped tablespoons of milk thistle seed up in a spice grinder until it is really fine and then I add 1-2–3/4 pint of boiling water to it, cover it, and leave it to stand for about 2 hours. Then I mix it and strain it and drink it. You can also make a milder infusion from the remaining ground seed by adding a little more boiling water. I do this daily.

I have hep c genotype 1a which is the bad one. I was on the interferon and riboviron tx until the side effects became so bad, my dr took me off the treatment. I started taking the milk thistle with phytosome and liv52. When my tx ended with the interferon, I still had a high viral load. After taking these herbs for a couple of months, my blood work showed hepatitis non detectable and 0 viral load. I first of all give credit to God, and next to these herbs, afterall, God put these plants here for a purpose. I feel much better.

It would undoubtedly aid the recovery of your liver, however it would not rid the body of the virus itself.

I’ve just been diagnosed positive to Hepatitis C. I’ve decided to take a natural approach and avoid the Interferon due to the side effects etc. Would Liv 52 play a “key role” in the recovery process of the liver in Hepatitis C cases? does it rid the body of the virus itself?

I too have just discovered this site…. First time I’ve joined in, so I’ll wait a while before I start imparting gory details – suffice to say I need & want to do something. I clicked on this link because I’m trying to locate supplements/vits to help with cravings and physical recovery. I live on a tiny island in the aegean – can get v*@gra over the counter at local chemist, but not a lot of natural stuff! I want to order kudzu and maybe LIV52 on-line – both sound beneficial…. can anyone tell me if I can take them at the same time? And a good source?

Hi there. As a new person on this forum I just want to wish everyone well with the battle against alcohol. The non-judgemental tone and honesty on here is a tonic in itself. Self loathing, blackouts, terrible lying, uninhibited behaviour turning into making a total t*** of myself and consequently having to backtrack, apologize, not to mention upsetting those who care about me has been a perpetual nightmare. This causes self loathing, shame, and hangovers can last for two or three days. I go for lengths of time without a drink, but when I think ‘To hell with it!’ and one or two won’t hurt I’m back on the cycle, and can’t stop until I’m seriously out of it, with all that that entails. I have trouble with the ‘disease’ concept, but am pretty sure that it is genetic as my father was an alcoholic, and my mother a heavy drinker whose personality alters dramatically after two drinks. I need to deal with this and the thought of an AA meeting is out of the question although initially it helped me. I have come to terms with being an alcoholic but as you all probably know the thought of never being able to pick up a glass is a tough one. I have been surrounded by heavy drinkers but not all of them are alcoholic. I’m scared of isolating and have managed one social engagement without alcohol this week which was a bit of a strain to put it politely. I rarely drink alone as that is fatal. Need to quit the cigs as well, but one thing at a time. I managed to stop cocaine, and marijuana just makes me feel paranoid and nuts now…so hopefully I’ll deal with this one. All the very best, and I am so pleased to have discovered this site. Insomnia is a problem. Anyone got any idea how long it can go on for?

    • Puneet 30 November, 2012 at 11:11 pm - Reply

Seems like your problem is mine…and insomnia being one of them. but i have benefited my sleep in a great way buy consuming the juice of Indian gooseberry called “Amla” in hindi , you can buy this from medical stores too, take a glass of water mixed with 30ml of it 2 hours prior to sleeping, and insure to have another glass of water the same way anytime during the day, use it for a week and revert.

I had hepatitis C and I went the natural way but it never completely cured my hepatitis C my liver kept on getting damaged and now I have stage 3 cirrhosis I finally took the medicine and did the interferon and Incivic now I am cured of hepatitis C and just have to be mindful of what I put in my body I only eat organic drink pure water gave up sodas drinking smoking druging everything nine years ago.i don’t no if liv.52 works. But I know eating raw vegetables exercising every day I can prolong my life but once you have liver damage it’s a irreversible all you can do is keep the liver from damaging more that’s all you can do

    • Kev 24 September, 2011 at 11:51 pm - Reply

Milk thistle seed is one of the best liver tonics on the planet. You can buy the bottled stuff with a dropper, but I would recommend buying the seeds and grinding them yourself…failing that buy the powdered milk thistle seed. A fat has to be present in order to get the silymarin from the seeds, but the seeds themselves contain a fat! You can mix it with coconut (great for the kidneys and an antiviral) and just add hot water and allow it to infuse for a couple of hours. You will also benefit from consuming the ground seeds, easier said I know, but if you put a spoonful in your mouth and take a drink of water to wash it down it is no worse than swallowing a pill. It takes a bit of getting used to… Some herbalists believe that you can only extract the silymarin with alcohol (tinctures), but nature provides this medicine for us and she never intended us to drink alcohol. Peace. xx
